Your future role on our team
BBA is seeking a intermediate Mechanical Piping Engineer with experience in mine process plants to support our continued growth and achievement of our strategic objectives in Santiago, Chile. Youll play a key role in all phases of engineering projects, from front-end studies to field implementation, with a strong focus on technical expertise. As a member of the Mechanical piping Engineering team in Santiago, youll be responsible for delivering exceptional technical quality, develop the Mechanical-Piping designs necessary for Engineering Project focused on Mining and process industry, including calculations, technical documents and review of Plans, ensuring their quality. Also perform site work, including Inspection, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning of mechanical systems and piping in accordance with the requirements of the Client and BBA.

Serve as a key team member of the discipline for small to major brownfield and greenfield mining projects. 
Develop technical work, with a strong focus on conceptual design studies, pre-feasibility studies and feasibility studies. 
Perform various calculations for equipment sizing and design. 
Design and ensure that plans meet guidelines as well as legal and regulatory requirements. 
Participate in the preparation of plans and specifications and perform detailed engineering based on guidelines for mandates involving piping systems, heavy machinery, conveyors, and metallurgical processes. 
Perform engineering on bulk material handling, crushing and grinding circuits, flotation circuits, leaching circuits, dewatering and overall process plant layout. 
Participate in site inspections, condition assessments, commissioning and testing. 
Prepare technical reports, analyses and client presentations. 
Generate high-quality relationships with our teams in Canada and the U.S. 
Coach junior engineers, actively sharing knowledge, and help enhance skills within the team.

Overview of certifications and job requirements
University degree in Mechanical Engineering 
More than 5 years of relevant engineering experience in the mining sector in Chile 
At least 2 years in a consulting engineering firm in Chile 
Experience in mechanical engineer on mineral process plant projects 
Experience in copper andor base metal circuits 
Ability to interpret PFDs and process design criteria from process engineering 
Experience in development of calculations and dimensioning piping systems, compressed air systems, forced ventilation 
Ability to prepare plant layouts, select mechanical equipment and validate and perform pump sizing 
Available for site work and short-term assignments 
Advanced English level, both spoken and written 
Microsoft Office User Management 
Knowledge in resistance analysis of materials, stress analysis and finite elements 
Knowledge of the market (Manufacturers and Suppliers) of Equipments, Pumps, Valves, and Piping Elements, models and sizes available and most common 
Knowledge of Standards and Codes applicable to Design (API, ANSI, ASME, AWWA, NFPA, among others).
