La Florida, Region Metropolitana (RM), Chile Florida Tech The Associate Vice President of Finance and Administration will reportto the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and will beresponsible for providing leadership and active oversight of the dayto day operations of various financial and business functions for theuniversity. The position will develop and implement financial andbusiness policies and procedures, lead teams to provide services tothe university community, implement new systems and processes, andensure the university remains compliant with Generally AcceptedAccounting Principles (GAAP), applicable local, state, and federalregulations. **Responsibilities**: Provide leadership andoversight of several departments, functions and staff in keyareas: **Financial planning and analysis**: - Take ownershipof the institutional budget and forecasting processes - Developshort and long-range forecasting models for profit and lossstatementof activities, balance sheetstatement of financial position, CAPEX,and cash flow - Develop methods to analysis and report on variancesand trends in financial and business data - Build proformas for newinstitutional initiatives and projects - Continually enhancemanagement reporting, dashboards, and impactful metrics for greaterfinancial visibility and accountability - Write clear and accuratenarratives to accompany all budgets, forecasts and financialreports - Buildout and leverage existing technology and tools tomaximize results **Treasury, investments, and debtmanagement**: - Manage the liquidity of the university andmonitor cash concentrations in various accounts - Develop timelyand deep cash flow modeling - Monitor service levels and developrelationships with existing and future banking vendors - Monitorand advise on institutional investments and holdings includingendowment, real estate, and other assets - Track lines of creditand other debt facilities so that the institution is maximizingcapacity and market trends - Monitor and ensure the universityscompliance with all debt covenants and governmental agencyrequirements - Lead reporting requirements and relationshipbuilding with credit agencies - Develop reports, dashboards,impactful metrics, and narratives that support theseareas **Student financial services**: - Ensure studentsare provided the best service possible on their accounts, 3rd partybilling, payment plans and refunds - Monitor department servicesand offerings for continuous improvement - Review refund exceptionsand various collection actions - Develop robust managementreporting and metrics for student accounts and departmentperformance - Ensure compliance with Title IV and all applicablegovernmental agency requirements **AdditionalResponsibilities**: - Work collaboratively and develop a strongworking relationship with the Controller and team on joint projects,annual audit, and day to day operations. - Develop and monitorinternal controls for improve compliance and fraud prevention tosafeguard institutional assets. - Respond to a wide variety ofspecial projects and reporting requests with complete, accurate, andtimely results. - Articulate complex accounting and financeinformation through effective written and oral communications that canbe understood by varying audiences. - Develop effective tools andtraining opportunities for various constituencies on policies,procedures and financial management operations. - Take ownership ofvarious Workday Financial Management system modules to ensure theintegrity of financial data, business processes, security, maintenanceand implementations. - Support the CFO with the board of trusteesprojects and meeting preparations, support the investment and financecommittees and directed and service a committee notetaker asneeded. - Maintain professional standards and affiliations for thedepartment to keep current in trends, regulations, and changes theaccounting and finance profession. - Create a positive workingenvironment for team members that encourages staff to provide thehighest quality of service and support to all internal and externalcustomers. - Provide staff members timely training, coaching andevaluations to ensure effective performance. - Advise and supportthe Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer on specialprojects, operations and all accounting and business matters. -Remain flexible and open to change, taking on new assignments,initiative, and departments as needed to support the on-goingdevelopment and growth of theinstitution. **Education**: - Bachelors degree inAccounting or Business Administration required, Masters degree inBusiness Administration preferred **Requirements**: -Minimum 10 years finance or accounting experience - Minimum 5 yearsdirectly related experience overseeing accounting or financeoperations, including staff management - Solid understanding ofGAAP, fund accounting, internal controls, and governmental reportingrequirements - Original job Associate Vice President of Finance and posted on GrabJobs ©.
