Come and be a part of this success About the Role Procurement Analysis is a team within the Market Analysis & Economic (MAE) sub-function which provides advice and analysis for key commercial decisions in Procurement, compiles and assesses industry intelligence on major categories of spending in our operating jurisdictions, and delivers forecasts and market outlooks on the inbound supply chain for input to company-wide planning. Reporting to the Manager Procurement Analysis, in this role you will be a senior team member responsible for monitoring and analyzing the markets of the key cost drivers for BHPs Minerals America operations, such as labour, sulphuric acid, processing consumables and the broader inflationary environment in Chile. • Undertake market leading research of key markets, including vendor and cost analysis. • Provide analysis of the inflationary environment, including the outlook for key cost benchmarks (e.g. wages, acid) to support decisions on procurement activities, capital allocations, asset valuations, and strategy formulation. • Develop, maintain and improve price, supply and demand forecasting models. • Deliver regular market reports, consolidating key market updates, intelligence and analysis into concise, logical and compelling narratives. • Conduct market presentations to internal and external stakeholders (opportunity-based). Respond to ad-hoc analysis and data requests from stakeholders. • Work collaboratively with broader analysis and procurement teams, and engage constructively with stakeholders. • Demonstrate and instill an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development. • Maintain the highest standards of professional integrity, consistent with BHPs Code of Conduct. About You To be a top performer you will need: • Excellent communication (written, visual and verbal) skills, including fluency in both English and Spanish. • Ability to participate in a geographically dispersed, culturally diverse virtual team, with 1-up manager located in Brisbane, Australia. • Knowledge of the copper mining inbound supply chain. • Knowledge of macroeconomic data and concepts. • Quantitative and qualitative research skills. • Ability to deal with complex problems independently.
