If you want to be part of an inclusive, adaptable, and forward:We are currently seeking a Sr. Looker Developer to join our team in Las Colinas, Texas (US:TX), United States (US).Responsibilities Core Job Functions:Build LookML data models on top of the consumption layer (Snowflake)Design new LookML dimensions or measures within the given requirementsDefinebuild new reporting infrastructuretables per business need (Derived Tables)Analyze data models and business requirements to create LookML objects, including the determination of source objects and how to join views into ExploresBuild Explores for users to answer business questions within given requirementsSupport reporting infrastructure and deployment pipeline (Looker, GitHub, Validate Pull Request Process)Implement version control based on given requirements, including determination of appropriate setup for Git branches (Shared Branches, Pull from Remote Production)Modify existing project structure to account for new reporting needsConstruct SQL statements to use with new dimensions and measuresTroubleshootresolve errors in existing data models and exploresImplement data securitypermissions for users (Access Filters, Field and Row Level)Optimize queriesreports for performance, including which solution to use based on performance implications (Explores, Merged Results, Derived Tables)Implement persistent derived tables caching policies; appropriate caching settings based on update frequency (Hourly, Weekly, ETL completion)Maintain the health of LookML projects, ensuring existing contents are working (Content Validator, Audit, Search for Errors, Unit Testing)Utilize LookML parameters to increase end:user experienceTrain and mentor junior:level programmers on LookercomponentsRequirements Skillsets:2+ years of LookML and Looker:specific experienceExpertise in database technologies (Snowflake) and working with large sets of dataAbility to brainstorm Looker solutions to recommend appropriate analytics KPIsKnowledgeable on appropriate LookML to use (Dimensions, Measures, Derived Tables)Experienced at determining when to use persistent derived tables based on runtimecomplexity of Explore queriesExperience with PDTs, table filters, custom formatting, parameter selection, derived tablesAnalyze data via SQL queries to assess structure, granularity, quality, and fit for analyticsUnit testing via SQL Runner for data validation of result set expected resultsResolution skills when inconsistencies are found (Different Results than Expected, Non:unique Primary Keys)Methodology selection based on queryreport performance (AB Testing, SQL Principles)Able to improve data availability (Cache Queries, Persist Tables, Combination Solutions)Ability to assess code quality and resolution of validation errors and warningsKnowledge of LookML best practices for codingAbout Importante empresa ServicesImportante empresa Services is an equal opportunity employer and considers all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, citizenship, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, physical or mental disability, veteran or marital status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
